Welcome to Carrington Middle School and the Sea Crew Team! Carrington is a place for learning and growth and our team is the place to be! Our motto is “Sea Crew is the Sea to Success” and we are excited about launching your student into his or her first successful year of middle school!
Middle school is vastly different than elementary school and can be a difficult transition. In our experience the transition is often harder for parents than for students. Please be aware that middle school is where the responsibility changes from the parents’ shoulders to the students’ shoulders. This summer is a great time to start training your child to think independently and take responsibility for his or her own actions.
We look forward to meeting you at open house! The Sea Crew team will be meeting in the media center. During open house we will distribute all the documents you need for success in middle school.
We hope your student had a restful summer and is ready to start the school year with a positive attitude, open mind, and good work ethic!

In case you’re itching to know more about your child’s middle school experience, here’s a brief overview of what your student can expect to learn this year…
SCIENCE will learn about ecology, geology, soil, space, heat, energy, and light.
MATH will be made up of units on place value, basic operations with whole numbers, probability/statistics, fractions and decimals, measurements, geometry, percent, problem solving, and pre-algebra.
LANGUAGE ARTS will focus on the writing process through essays, poems, letter writing and plays, vocabulary development, grammar, and literature appreciation.
SOCIAL STUDIES will study the history, government, geography, and cultures of Europe, Eurasia, and South America.
